WORKING WITH ADVISOR WORKS
Our fee structure is built on the “Do It For Me” philosophy, which is aimed at breaking the advisor’s default position of handling existing client service needs over executing marketing/prospecting activities.
Accordingly, we require that all advisors wishing to work with Advisor Works enroll in a $99 per month Advisor Works membership. All specific programs purchased afterward have their own cost and expense structure. The $99 membership will include a monthly Advisor Works Newsletter that will be sent to the advisor, which will include new opportunities that Advisor Works has discovered, cross-pollination of programs that other advisors are having success with, interviews with experts, and other items that will help advisors obtain and keep more clients.
In addition, the $99 monthly membership will also include one hour of marketing work “Done For You” by Advisor Works. For the first three weeks of every month, advisors will be able, at their discretion, to request any type of marketing, practice development, or other consulting related to the objective of obtaining and keeping more clients. Examples include creating a brochure, designing and doing client research, creating and a website, creating a video of the advisor to be posted to the website, etc.
However, if the advisor does not contact Advisor Works in the first three weeks of the month, one of the Advisor Works consultants will contact the advisor. In the “Do It For Me” way, the Advisor Works consultant will hold the advisor accountable to give his or her full attention to marketing or practice development for at least an hour a month, and will be encouraged to select implementation of marketing and/or practice development programs on a “Do It For Me” basis. If a project launched during the one hour of consulting requires more than an hour of consulting time, it will be priced out by the Advisor Works consultant at a cost of $100 per hour (billed to the nearest ¼ hour) plus pass-through expenses.
In all cases, an initial consultation will be held between an Advisor Works professional and the advisor (and staff, at his/her option). This consultation reviews the advisor’s history, current practices, staff, goals, etc. This initial consultation costs $350.
If a project is selected from the current Advisor Works offerings, the following costs will apply:
Newsletters: $200 per month, plus pass through expenses: eg. postage and envelopes and printing if the advisor chooses to use regular post (approximately $1.50 per client if traditional mail is used, lower pass through expenses for email delivery of newsletters).
90 Day Call Rotation: $1,250 per quarter up to 150 clients, $4 per client over 150, plus pass though expenses (which are expected to be minimal).
Christmas, Birthday, Anniversary and other celebratory cards: $200 per month, plus pass through expenses: eg. Cost of cards, postage (approximately $2.50 per client if traditional mail is used, minimal pass through expenses for email delivery).
Client Events: $2,500 plus pass through expenses: eg. Room rental, refreshments, industry/topic experts, etc. (approximately $500 plus cost of any expert speakers). Require 60 days notice.
Intimate Client Dinners: $1,500 plus pass through expenses: eg. Cost of invitations, meal expense, etc. (approximately $1,400). Require 60 days notice.
Seminars: $2,500 plus pass through expenses: eg. Cost of invitations, room rental, refreshments and snacks, gift give aways (approximately $500). Requires 60 days notice.
Buying or Selling a Practice: $2,000 plus pass through expenses. Includes preparation of Commercial Terms, negotiation of terms and costs.
